Getting started
Sign in with Apple, Google or your email. Your first talk, Meet Atlas, is free: up to 8 minutes in Live, so Atlas can learn about your world, your goals and how you speak. After that, your four petals open and you can practise any way you like.
Finding your way around
- Home is where you practise. Choose Live or Lite, pick a petal, then tap Start. Live has four petals: Free talk, Grammar, Roast me and Phrases. Lite has three, because Roast me is Live only.
- Library keeps your talks. A Live talk has its recap and playback, and a roast you ask for appears there when it’s ready. A Lite talk keeps what you said and what Atlas said.
- Progress shows your journey: where you started, your level now and what Atlas is working on with you next.
- Profile holds Credits & usage, what Atlas knows about you, your default mode, Atlas’s speaking pace, Picture style, notifications and your practice reminder, Privacy and data, and your account.
Live or Lite
Live uses 3 credits a minute. Atlas hears your voice, including pronunciation, tone and pauses, and replies straight away. After a Live talk you get a recap, playback, a phrase to remember and, if you ask, a roast.
Lite uses 1 credit a minute and is the default. Your iPhone turns your speech into text, and Atlas replies after a short pause. Lite has Free talk, Grammar and Phrases. It records no audio, so there’s no recap, playback or roast, but your words are saved, so Atlas still remembers you.
Switch between them on Home before you start, and set your default in Profile → Default mode.
Credits
Fluency Studio uses credits, not a subscription. Buy a pack of 100, 200 or 525 credits in Profile → Credits & usage; the app shows the price in your country before you buy. Credits never expire, and a roast costs 2 credits. Credits & usage shows your balance and what you’ve used this month.
Your credits belong to your Fluency Studio account, so they’re there when you sign in on another iPhone. If a purchase doesn’t show up, tap Restore purchases on the screen where you buy credits. For a refund, use Apple’s Report a Problem page; Apple decides refunds, and a refunded pack’s credits are removed from your balance. Unused credits are lost if you delete your account.
Signing in
Sign in with Apple, Google or your email. With email, we send you a sign-in link: open it on the same iPhone where you asked for it. If the link has expired or doesn’t open the app, go back to Fluency Studio and send a new one. If you used Hide My Email with Apple, sign in with Apple again to reach the same account.
Your account and data
To see what Atlas remembers about you, open Profile → What Atlas knows about you. You can forget any item, export your data as a file or reset Atlas’s memory there. To stop Atlas raising a topic, add it to the “Don’t bring up” list, on that screen or at the end of a talk.
Each phrase you keep gets a picture in the style you choose in Profile → Picture style: Minimal ink, Soft clay or Photo-like. Choose Text only for no pictures.
To delete a talk, open it in your Library; deleting it also removes what Atlas learned from it. Live recordings are kept until you delete the talk or your account.
To delete your account, open Profile and tap Delete account, at the bottom under Sign out. If you’re asked to sign in again first, sign out, sign back in and try once more. See our privacy policy for details.
Microphone and notifications
Live needs the microphone. Lite needs the microphone and speech recognition. If Atlas can’t hear you, open iPhone Settings → Fluency Studio and turn them on. You can turn notifications, such as Roast ready, and your daily practice reminder on or off in Profile. The practice reminder is set on your iPhone and is skipped on days you’ve already practised.
About Atlas’s feedback
Atlas is an AI coach. It can mishear you, and its corrections, scores, level estimates and roasts can be wrong. Treat them as practice, not as an official assessment. If something looks wrong, let us know.
