Terms of use
Version 1.0 · Effective 1 November 2026
Who we are
Fluency Studio is operated by Corefold Labs LLC, registered in California, United States (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us for your use of the Fluency Studio app and website. By creating an account or using Fluency Studio, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that cannot be waived.
Eligibility and your account
You must be 18 or older to use Fluency Studio. Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in method secure, and do not use another person’s account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Using Fluency Studio
Fluency Studio helps you practise spoken English by talking out loud with Atlas, an AI coach. It coaches English only. There are two ways to talk:
- Live: Atlas hears your voice, including pronunciation, tone and pauses, and replies straight away. Live offers four modes: Free talk, Grammar, Roast me and Phrases. After a Live talk you get a recap, and you can play the talk back, ask for a roast and keep a phrase to remember, with a picture in the style you choose.
- Lite: your iPhone turns your speech into text, and Atlas answers in a synthesized voice after a short pause. Lite offers Free talk, Grammar and Phrases. Lite does not record audio, so there is no recap, playback or roast. The words of the conversation are saved.
Atlas remembers what matters from your talks in both Live and Lite, such as your goals, your topics and the slips you make, so each talk can build on the last. Fluency Studio is for your personal, non-commercial use.
Levels such as B1–B2 are Fluency Studio’s own estimates based on your talks. They are not an official certificate, test result or proof of language ability, and you should not present them as one.
Speaking with Atlas
Atlas’s replies, corrections, upgraded sentences, phrases, scores, roasts and pictures are generated by AI. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, and they may resemble content given to other people. Check anything important before you rely on it, for example before an interview, exam or presentation.
Roast me is designed to be honest and playful, and it can be blunt. Choose it only if you want that kind of feedback. You can end any talk at any time.
Atlas is not a teacher of record, therapist, doctor, lawyer or immigration adviser, and nothing it says is professional advice. Avoid sharing sensitive details you do not want stored, such as health, financial or account information, during a talk.
Your talks and content
You keep any rights you have in your voice, recordings, transcripts and other content you add to Fluency Studio. You give us a limited permission to store, process and display that content, and to have our service providers process it, only to provide Fluency Studio to you.
Practise with your own voice. Do not record other people without their permission, and do not include other people’s personal information without their permission. We keep the recording of a Live talk, and the text of any talk, until you delete that talk or your account, as described in our privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use Fluency Studio to break the law, harass or threaten anyone, record people without consent, share unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit content, try to make Atlas produce harmful content, infringe others’ rights, misuse or resell the service, share your account, get around credit charges or security, scrape or reverse engineer the service except where the law allows, or interfere with Fluency Studio or other people’s use of it. We may limit or suspend access that breaks these terms or puts people or the service at risk.
Credits and purchases
Your first talk with Atlas, Meet Atlas, is free and lasts up to 8 minutes, in Live. After that, practice uses credits.
- Buying credits. Credits are sold in packs through the App Store. The app shows what each pack contains and its price before you buy. There is no subscription, and nothing renews.
- Using credits. Credits are used while you talk: Live uses 3 credits a minute and Lite uses 1 credit a minute. A roast uses 2 credits. The app shows the rate before you start, and Credits & usage shows your balance and what you have used. If we change the rates, the app will show the new rates before you start a talk; a change never affects credits already used.
- Your balance. Credits never expire. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, and can be used only in Fluency Studio, on the account that bought them.
- Payment and refunds. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase. Apple handles refunds under its policies and applicable law. If Apple refunds a purchase, we remove that pack’s credits from your balance.
- Deleting your account. If you delete your account, any unused credits are lost and are not refunded, except where the law requires otherwise.
Our service
Fluency Studio, including its software, design, coaching content and the content we provide, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We may add, change or remove features and modes, and we may suspend Fluency Studio when needed for maintenance, security or legal reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
Ending your account
You can stop using Fluency Studio at any time. To delete your account, open Profile in the app and tap Delete account, at the bottom under Sign out. Deleting your account ends your access, and any unused credits are lost. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must for legal reasons, or if we stop offering Fluency Studio, and we will tell you where appropriate. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as disclaimers, liability and disputes, continue after your account ends.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, Fluency Studio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise any particular result, such as passing a test, reaching a level or getting a job.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to Fluency Studio is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Fluency Studio in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or gross negligence, or where your local law does not allow them.
Disputes
Please contact support@corefoldlabs.com first so we can try to resolve any concern informally. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. If you live outside the United States, you may also have the right to bring a claim in your local courts under your local law.
App Store terms
Your license to use the Fluency Studio app is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and these terms apply alongside it. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Fluency Studio or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. When we make material changes, we will show the updated terms in the app and ask you to review and accept them before you continue, and we may also notify you by email. Each version shows its effective date, and earlier versions remain available. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. For questions, contact support@corefoldlabs.com.
